Extracting Printed Designs and Woven Patterns from Textile Images
نویسندگان
چکیده
The extraction of printed designs and woven patterns from textiles is formulated as a pixel labelling problem. Algorithms based on Markov random field (MRF) optimisation and reestimation are described and evaluated on images from an historical fabric archive. A method for quantitative evaluation is presented and used to compare the performance of MRF models optimised using α−expansion and iterated conditional modes, both with and without parameter reestimation. Results are promising for potential application to content-based indexing and browsing.

Color and Weave Relationship in Woven Fabrics
In woven designs from colored threads, a colored pattern is a consequence of two possible arrangements where warp is over the weft or vice versa. Thus the primary elements of woven fabric design are combination of weaves and blending of colors using such weaves. Weave is the scheme or plan of interlacing the warp and weft yarns that produce the integrated fabric. Weave relates specially to the ...
متن کاملImproving the Durability of Screen Printed Conductors on Woven Fabrics for E-Textile Applications
This paper reports the experimental investigation of the durability of screen printed conductor-based strain gauges on four fabrics of different stiffness by examining the change in the electrical resistances during and after bending. Emphasis is placed on improving the durability of the gauges for both positive and negative bending e-textile applications. The electrical resistance of the print...
متن کاملCAD/CAM Algorithms for 3D Woven Multilayer Textile Structures
This paper proposes new algorithms for the computeraided design and manufacture (CAD/CAM) of 3D woven multi-layer textile structures. Existing commercial CAD/CAM systems are often restricted to the design and manufacture of 2D weaves. Those CAD/CAM systems that do support the design and manufacture of 3D multi-layer weaves are often limited to manual editing of design paper grids on the compute...

متن کاملReal-time Visualization of Woven Textiles
This paper presents a technique for visualizing woven textiles in real time, while optimizing the realistic appearance. The proposed approach supports rendering of complex weave patterns by adopting Weaving Information File (WIF), a standard from textile Computer Aided Design (CAD) for representing the grammar of weaving. We develop a realistic rendering scheme by combining the grammar represen...
